A New Story for the People

I believe in rewriting the inheritance of women and of leadership. This was a primary motivation for writing my book, Burlesque and Bequest: Rewriting the Inheritance of Women.

I believe in a new story for the people. In my book, I take readers on an intimate journey to explore the inheritance of women, and to deliberate over the most important questions of the century:
Can society learn to exalt, celebrate, and integrate the feminine?
Can women learn to insist on their self-worth?
Can we declare a new legacy for the feminine?

I was deeply inspired, obsessed you might say, by Sinner Saint’s show-stopping production, Inheritance: Maiden, Mother, Crone. I had the honor of being the production manager for this show and bringing audiences on a provocative and profound journey exploring what it meant to be a woman. I couldn’t stop there, so I created this book. I interviewed an eclectic group of women who are pioneering the folklore of their souls, and answering these questions for themselves. My book takes a raw and unapologetic look at how their sex and gender have shaped who they are and what their legacy is. 

This video captures my sentiment, and reflects my views on what feminine leadership seeks to help us understand and accomplish. My favorite line from the video is: "disrupt the psychic subculture of our mythology." Cheers to disruption.
